Lotus Stem Pickle

Ingredients

  • 200 gm lotus stem approx
  • 11/2 tsp methi powder
  • 1 tsp kalonji
  • 21/2 tsp Saunf
  • 11/2 tsp Rai powder
  • 1 tsp Haldi
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp Lal Mirchi powder
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 pinch Hing

Instructions

  • Clean behind (lotus stem)and boil them in water for 5 minutes then strain and dry them on a kitchen towel
  • Heat oil and let it cool
  • Mix all the dry powders together leaving salt
  • In a bowl add the powder mixture and then add behind and mix well
  • Add 2 tbsp oil and mix well adding salt in the last step
  • Pour the pickle into glass jar and before covering it with a lid add the leftover oil
