Red velvet cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese

  • 1 cup whipping cream

  • 4-5 drops red food colour

  • 1/4 cup oil(without any flavour)

  • 1/4 cup sugar syrup(2tbsp sugar dissolved in 1/4 cup of water)

Instructions

  1. Firstly sift all the dry ingredients together.. add in milk, oil, food colour &essence whisk it gently until everything combine well, add in vinegar give it a mix, transfer batter in to greased tin, bake cake in preheated oven on 180 degree celsius for 25-30 minutes, take out the cake,let it cool down completely

  2. Take it out from the mould, cut the top dome shaped portion,blend that to crumbs and keep aside for the later decoration, now cut the cake in to two layers, for frosting whisk cream cheese and whipping cream, 2tbsp powdered sugar together until you get stiff peaks

  3. Now apply some sugar syrup to the bottom layer of the cake,spread whipped cream place another layer on top again apply some sugar syrup, spread whipping cream, cover the entire cake, now stick cake crumbs to the sides and top of the cake, & decorate cake according to your taste with cream...and it's done...
