Strawberry Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup maida

  • 1/2 cup castor sugar

  • 1/2 cup condensed milk

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp strawberry paste

  • 1 tbsp tooti-frooti

  • 1 tbsp chopped cherries

  • 1 tbsp chopped dried strawberry

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 tsp strawberry essence

  • as required Few drops of red food colour (optional)

  • as required Some strawberry slices for garnishing

Instructions

  • In a large bowl add condensed milk and castor sugar. Mix it well then add oil in it and again mix everything well till it is well combined.
  • Now keep a strainer over the bowl. Then add all the dry ingredients like maida, baking powder and baking soda. Strain them. Then mix everything well together by adding water, little by little, without forming any lumps.
  • Now add the strawberry paste and mix it with the cake batter. Then finally add some tooti-frooti, some chopped cherries, some chopped dried strawberry, few drops of red food colour and strawberry essence.
  • Now combine everything well with the batter. Now grease a cake-tin with oil, apply butter paper over it, now pour the cake batter into it. Dab it twice so that the air bubbles gets off. Now decorate it with some strawberry pieces as shown below.
  • Now for pre-heating, take a kadai for pre-heating with it's base covered with salt and a stand over it. Cover it and pre-heat the kadai for 5 mins on high flame and then 3 mins. on medium flame.
  • After 8 mins of pre-heating, place the cake-tin over the stand & immediately cover the kadai & bake it on a low flame for about 45 mins approximately. After 45 mins of baking, check it by inserting a toothpick, if it comes out clean then your cake is done.
