In a bowl, add curd and ginger garlic paste which is mentioned in the marination.
Now add all the other ingredients which is mentioned in marination and mix well.
Next, add chicken pieces and mix well. Add little mint and coriander leaves.
Now add oil and rest for 30 mins.
In a pan add 2 liters of water and add spices which are mentioned above: cloves, cinnamon and cardamon with few mint and coriander leaves. Add required salt and boil water.
After the water boils, add soaked rice and few drops of oil. Cook till it is 3/4 th cooked.
Drain the water completely and keep separate.
In a pressure, pan add oil and fry 2 thinly sliced onion and keep aside. In the same pan add 2 thinly onions again and saute well.
Next, add green chilli and tomato, saute well.
Now add the marinated chicken along with masala and cook for 10 mins or until done.
Into the pressure cooker now add one layer of steamed rice and spread fried onion on top.
Next add a second layer of rice on top and spread some mint and coriander. Add few drops of colours(turmeric powder mixed in some water) and ghee. Next cook for 10 minutes.
Now take banana leaf and heat slightly.
Now chicken biriyani has been almost done. Open the lid.
In meantime boil eggs.
Now keep two to three portions of biriyani in a banana leaf.
Next, add egg and chamanthi. Here I didn't keep chamanthi. And tie the bag with thread.
Now steam this banana bag in a steamer for 5 mins to absorb the flavors fully.
Now it's ready to serve pottalam chicken biriyani or kizhi chicken biriyani.
